Cliche Bingo. I'm working on a genderswapped DC fic. Just these three, no one else.

Unfortunately, names are a problem...

Does Clark become Connie? Does Bruce become Brucetta? Diana... something roman and male? I do not know. Help me out here.

Poll #1430926 HELP ME NAME CHARACTERS
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 31

Genderswapped Superman's name would be...?

Genderswapped Diana's name would be...? (must be greek. She was named after a goddess to begin with)

Genderswapped Batman's name would be...?

Ticky?

Edit: Right, right. Diana is the roman version. Mea culpa.

So, for cliche purposes, I picked names vaguely similar to the originals.

If I was really trying for realism, I would go to the name voyager and find the frequency of "clark" and "bruce" in whatever year I'm pretending are their birth years, and then pick female names with similar frequency in that year.

It is!

OTOH, I'm in love with my friend's suggestion I call Bruce 'Blaire', because that's such a rich american girl name.

BLAIRE!
I couldn't think of a girl's B name with one syllable.

I wanna change my vote to Blaire!

I was leaning towards Beth, for the one-syllable-ness. UNTIL NOW.

Oooh, Blair is perfect! Actually, I change my votes to Blair Wayne and Carol Kent. For Diana it depends: are you genderswapping all the Amazons, or just her? I think either Kouros or Helion.

Just her. Diana's going to have a stressful childhood.

Yeah, but then Clark should be Claire, because.

I almost said the genderswapped Superman would be Carol Kent, and her Krypton name would be "Kar-el" but it was too horrible of a pun for even me.

I went for 'Diogenes' since 'born of the gods' is pretty much what Diana is.

I like that. It and Phoebus are my big favourites right now.

Clark was named after Martha's maiden name, so I suggest another family name. Mariah (Martha's mother), Eliza or Sarah (Jonathan's mother, late sister).

Bruce Wayne was named for Robert the Bruce. I'd go for another warrior, Joan would be good. Elizabeth (Beth?) if you want to stay with royalty.

I... find it difficult to imagine a genderswapped Diana, it requires rewriting a whole mythology. But if you must, Apollo is the obvious choice, but you could switch up to Phoebus for an equivalent Roman name.

Oooh. I didn't know most of this! This is gonna change how I choose the names, yes.

I'm up to doing the rewriting for Diana. A lot of it's going to focus on 'well, the gods DID give him to us' though.

I would like to strongly advocate "Brook" for Bruce. Because it starts with "Br," and is so sexy. And it makes me think of "her" flipping her hair back arrogantly!

Preppy girl names are very tempting for Bruce.

I went with 'Bryce' for Bruce, since it sounds pretty close and like something rich people would name their daughter (Bryce Dallas Howard, anyone?).

For Diana I went with Dorian because its similar, Greco-Roman and, honestly, I love that name.

I picked Clara for Clark and apparently so did more than 50% of the people who submitted to this poll. :)

I *do* like the sound of Bryce. It sounds like a rich girl name, and Clara sounds kind of countryish.

Apollo is Diana's twin.

I'm sorry, I'm heavily drugged and misunderstood, I thought you meant hero names.
