Herr Muther: "This is what a facebook quiz told me. It means I'm graceful and always poised. I'm looking forward to that."



So yeah, I'm heading on a roadtrip tomorrow morning. I'm heading to exciting, exhilarating, exfoliating, Minnesota. Long story. My travelling companion is Herr Muther, who correctly guessed that if I tried to drive myself there I would end up off in a ditch being eaten by jackalopes. Also, we like trips.

So I'm gonna be gone until at least the ninth. There'll be internet access at my hotels, but expect me to post about as much as I always do. But just in case any of y'all need me, know that I'm probably at a zoo somewhere.


*Previous updates on her spirit animal were: "A kitten or a unicorn. It varies!"

I'm going to miss you guys while you're gone. Though I am going to appreciate finally being able to get a decent amount of sleep.

Have fun and bring me home presents for taking care of your zoo. <3

P.S. in my mind, mom's spirit animal will always be a kitten except for when it's a unicorn.

1. Yesterday I got the most amazing idea about a ficlet I was going to write for you. (I say 'amazing' but you know that means 'horrifying', right?) So, gods and muses willing, that will be waiting when you get back.

2. Have lots of fun! Careful of the horses. And the cows. And the corn, they probably have corn.

I LIVE in Minnesota! Where in MN will you be? I know all of the good zoos! (Also, CONvergence is this weekend -- will this be included in your trip? If so, you will be surrounded by awesome people.)

Me and my mom are debating going to that now that we know it exists! It intrigues us.

The Como Zoo is in St. Paul. It is free and awesome. The Minnesota Zoo is out in Apple Valley (suburb, boo) and is expensive and not as cool, though larger.

CONvergence is quite cool. My dude's film THAC0 is screening once again this year (it's on the schedule separate from general Cinema Rex movies, because they moved it to a larger room!), if you're interested in a hilarious movie about tabletop gaming and it's associated culture. He's also been involved in making a short MST3K homage for the closing ceremonies, since many of the cast will be there. I'll stop bragging now.

I wanna see as many zoos as possible. It is the theme of this trip. :D
